the Hypothetical non-Cook
The Hypothetical Non-Cook is the person who is skilled or actually excellent at cooking, and cooks frequently, but hates to cook all the same and would be a non-cook under different, hypothetical circumstances – if she hadn’t gotten married and had children, for example, if she had moved to LA or Paris instead… Many Hypothetical non-cooks barely make a fuss or articulate feelings of resentment or entrapment, though some are much more vocal. “I hate the process,” this type may explain, yet she’s got the process down. Some critics may feel it’s a little bit of a stretch to claim that the Hypothetical Non-Cook is even a non-cook at all, and place her instead in the Personalities Related and Relevant to the Non-Cook category. Who’s really to say where any of us fit in? That's what cross-referencing is for! Yet it’s true that this admired but not envied type does live in a special kind of limbo. A non-cook in spirit?
